Medion notebook with SSD and slim aluminum case will soon also be available from Aldi Süd
With the Medion Akoya E6246 Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd bring a new model of the middle-class series in the shops. It should be characterized by a particularly slim design. According to the manufacturer measures the profile in the folded state, 17.9 millimeters. The device weighs 1.7 kilograms. This is not one of the lightweights. In the size and price class but that is quite neat.
The 15.6-inch display (39.5 cm) is framed by an extra-narrow edge and is designed to be better. The LCD display shows images and videos in Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and is due to IPS technology to allow a particularly rich color reproduction.
The aluminum case houses an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor, which in combination with a 256 gigabyte (GB) SSD hard drive should ensure good performance and short loading times. The notebook also offers four GB of RAM and an Intel UHD graphics card.
The battery life should be up to six hours. Also in this value the notebook can compete with competing products in the same price range. If the battery is empty, should be sufficient according to the manufacturer for 60 minutes at the socket to recharge the notebook to 80 percent.
The device has Windows 10 Home installed. In addition, each user will receive a one-month trial for Office 365 and McAfee LiveSafe antivirus software.
The notebook is available since 31 January at Aldi Nord. From the 7th of February you can also buy it in the branches of Aldi Süd. It should cost 399 euros. Medion promises a three-year warranty on the devices.
The first tests of the notebook, for example by heise or Chip.de praise above all the display quality. When working, the notebook but shows a few weaknesses. The testers complain about too little memory. This is sufficient for office applications, web applications and everyday tasks. For video or image editing but you should resort to a more powerful device.
