In Germany, there are first-class recipes for casseroles or roasts. But now and then does variety and the filing of culinary blinkers well. Today it is therefore on the green island. In addition to the finest whiskey Ireland also offers one or the other delicacy – such as the Shepherd’s Pie.
The original recipe uses lamb. Of course, there are also variations with beef or vegetarian options. Can you do it the way you like it.
The Shepherd’s Pie is not a self-runner and does some work, because the meat sauce must first be set. But once this has happened, it works fast: let the sauce simmer and then place in a casserole dish. Mashed potato over it and off in the oven – or as in my case: on the grill. As a side dish you make a maximum of a salad, because meat, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots are already in the casserole. A classic one-pot dish once again, which even on warming the next day still tastes wonderful.
