He wanted to “honor his girlfriend”

Not an easy time for Liam Neeson. In his appearance on US television, he now tried to justify his revenge.

“I’m not a racist,” said Liam Neeson (66, “96 Hours”) on his first public appearance after being criticized for his statements about murderous revenge. “That was 40 years ago, I had a urge to urinate,” the actor tried to explain in the US show “Good Morning America”. After a friend who “loved” Neeson had been raped by a black man, he simply wanted to “honor her”, “in a medieval way,” as he admitted.

About his behavior and way of thinking, Neeson said on the show that they “shocked and hurt” him. So much that he finally got help. “A Catholic priest took the confession from me.” In sports, too, the British-American actor has found his way back to himself. As he continued to tell in the TV conversation, he has since been powerwalking: “Two hours a day to get that anger out of me,” the British Daily Mail quotes .

No matter if black or white

One thing Neeson seems to have been really important in the conversation. He emphasized that his reaction 40 years ago had nothing to do with the man’s skin color or nationality. “If he had been Irish, Scottish, British or Lithuanian, I know I would have reacted immediately,” he clarified.
