With the study of a sports sedan Peugeot shows at the Geneva Motor Show (March 7-17), the dynamic side of his upcoming electric offensive. The “Concept 508 Sport Engineered Neo-Performance” is an aerodynamically and visually optimized variant of the mid-range model 508, which was equipped with a powerful plug-in hybrid drive.
The role of the burner takes over the well-known 1.6-liter gasoline engine, which provides 200 hp here, as support two electric motors are used, one per axle. The rear also provides 147 kW / 200 hp, the front comes to 81 kW / 110 hp. This results in all-wheel drive and 294 kW / 400 hp system performance. This allows a track time of 4.3 seconds to 100 km / h, the intermediate sprint from 80 to 120 km / h completes the driving on 20-inch wheels in just 2.5 seconds. A maximum of 250 km / h are possible, purely electric, there are 190 km / h. The range in E-mode is the manufacturer with the industry-standard 50 kilometers.
Peugeot called the study on an outlook on future sports cars of the brand. The fact that there will actually be a 508 version with electrical support underneath it seems likely.
