Qatar Airways have redefined the term ‘long haul flights’ with the launch of longest direct flight from Doha to Auckland as reported by The Guardian.
It will be the world’s longest flight covering 9, 034 miles distance in 18 hours and 34 minutes. Currently, the longest direct flight is operated by Qantas from Dallas to Sydney covering 8, 578 miles in 16 hours and 55 minutes.
Earlier it was reported by Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker that ‘ultra long haul’ flight will be from Santiago to Auckland but it seems that Doha to Auckland is the extension of that plan.
Qatar is planning to use Boeing 777- LR aircraft carrying 259 passengers.
So, aren’t you excited to sit in the world’s longest direct flight?
