Actually, she wanted to celebrate her new hit – because she forgot a Japanese character, Ariana Grande has now but a “charcoal grill” in the hand.
Pop star Ariana Grande (25, “Thank U, Next”) accidentally got a BBQ tattoo. The US singer wanted to actually tattoo the name of her hit single “7 Rings” on the palm, in Japanese. However, social media users quickly explained that the characters on their hands translate as “little charcoal grill”. The photo of her new tattoo, which had first shown the 25-year-old on Instagram, has since been deleted.
In screenshots of now deleted tweets shared on the short message service, Grande admitted that she had forgotten an icon. Her new body jewelry is not permanent, as tattoos on the palm usually fade faster, she explained according to media reports. There was still a lot of Twitter ridicule for the star. However, the singer will be able to cope with that: her video for “7 Rings” has been viewed on Youtube more than 100 million times – and that, after she had just celebrated with the song “Thank U, Next” great successes. Her new album will be released on February 8th.
