Rough spots, redness , itching : dry skin annoys. In the cold season especially the hands suffer from the weather conditions . With these tips, they stay beautiful!
Cold can completely put the skin. Normally, it produces sebum to prevent water loss and not dehydrate it. However, from around eight degrees outside, the body stops production, causing less water to reach the epidermis. The result: dry spots, which are noticeable in the cold season, especially on the hands. Because they have few sebaceous glands and hardly any fatty tissue. Frequent hand washing and dry heating air are an additional burden. These four SOS tips help!
Gloves!
Gloves are a must to protect the skin from drying out. 20 percent of body heat is lost over the hands. But not only outside, but also indoors, the right protection is important! Be sure to wear rubber gloves when washing dishes, as hot water softens hands and nails and opens the pores for harmful substances.
Wash your hands!
Frequent hand washing is considered a reliable protection against infections. The disadvantage: hot water and soaps dry out the hands and attack the acid mantle of the skin. Therefore, you should only use lukewarm water and resort to a gentle soap with information such as “pH neutral” or “pH 5.5”.
The right care
Creaming is the be-all and end-all for supple hands. The stressed winter skin is mainly dependent on moisturizing products – creams with ingredients such as jojoba or argan oil or shea butter are the first choice here. Urea is also great for dry hands. The urea contained therein binds water and helps the skin to store moisture in the deeper layers.
SOS program!
This SOS program is best done before going to bed: 1. Make a scrub with 3 tablespoons of salt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of honey, rubbing your hands with them. Not only are dead cells removed, but care can also be better absorbed. 2. Pamper the skin afterwards with a rich cream or a hand serum. 3. Put on thin cotton gloves and go to sleep. The next morning, the skin is guaranteed to be petted again.
