Audi will provide its four-door small car A1 Sportback from autumn a high-profile variant aside. The A1 Citycarver plays the rustic, SUV-like design card. However, the new does not have four-wheel drive.
The 4.04 meter long A1 city carver has four inches more ground clearance than the normal A1. The plus comes from a different suspension and larger wheels than the conventional five-door. The range of wheels ranges from 16- to 18-inch wheels. The new features a radiator grille in the style of the Q models. Underride protection, wide side skirts and black planked wheel arches emphasize the robust appearance. The interior is based on the offer of the A1 and can be made colorful on request. Matching the nine exterior paints on offer, four contrasting colors are available for interior applications.
Like the A1 Sportback, the city carver offered in four trim levels can be customized in many ways, including full-LED headlamps, assistants such as adaptive cruise control or an automatic parking assistant, a virtual cockpit with navigation or a high-end music system. On request, there are the chassis with switchable dampers and rotors with red saddles, also four different driving modes are available.
At the market launch in the fall, Audi launches a special model “edition one”. It drives either in grey or orange lacquered and with 18 inch wheels. The interior is based on the highest Trim S-Line. Which engines are used in the small SUV, Audi does not yet communicate. For the A1 Sportback are a three-cylinder in the expansion stages with 95 hp and 116 hp and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 150 hp and a two-liter four-cylinder with 200 hp to choose from.
Prices the manufacturer does not yet call. But they should be slightly above those of the A1 Sportback , which is available from 21,540 euros.
