The popular TV presenter commutes between his still-married wife in California and his new love in Baden-Baden. A modern triangle ratio.
More luxury is hardly possible. The white property in Pacific Palisades, one of the finest residential areas in the west of the California metropolis of Los Angeles, seems to have been made perfect for the Gottschalk couple . “Anyone who appreciates European sophistication and Californian comfort is right with us,” writes estate agent Ryan Davis, 40, on his company’s homepage.
It is a “beautiful house in ranch style”, living area 834 m², plot size 2400 m², built in 1950, outdoor pool with waterfall, six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, gym, two parking spaces, putting green behind the outdoor pool. The neighborhood is home to Hollywood greats like Tom Hanks and Goldie Hawn. The former house of the famous Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann is also located in Pacific Palisades and is now used as a residence for artists from Germany.
The luxury house costs $ 40,000 rent – a month
In June 2018, the broker will offer the single-storey wooden house “with hardwood floors” for $ 50,000 (around € 44,000) a month. The breathtaking view of the Pacific is (virtually) free, as well as the furnishings, because the house is rented furnished. The only drawback: No pets allowed.

When Thomas Gottschalk (68) and his wife Thea (73) signed the lease in December 2018, the redeeming showmaster seems to have made a small deal. BUNTE knows that Gottschalk won the bid – for “only” US $ 40,000 monthly rent (around 35,000 euros) – and also the family cats are allowed to live there. Thea Gottschalk had saved her darlings from the terrible firewhich had completely destroyed her old house, a luxury mill in Malibu, in November 2018. Initially Thea found shelter in the hotel and with friends, confidants told BUNTE. Also, there is still a property in Santa Monica, run in their name. In December 2018, Thomas Gottschalk BUNTE then informed by email: “We live now for rent and have no idea what we are doing.”
Well, a few days ago, it was Saturday, April 13, Thomas Gottschalk flew from Munich to Los Angeles (just one day after the recording of his TV show on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the “ZDF hit parade” in Offenburg). His eldest son, Roman, 36, picked him up at the airport and drove him to the white house in Pacific Palisades (about 32 kilometers from the burned mill). BUNTE knows that the family is spending the Easter holidays here together. Despite the separation of the spouses after 46 years together, Thomas Gottschalk had his lawyer announced on 18 March.
Karina Moss (57), the new partner, says BUNTE, has “no problem” with dedicating himself to his family. The Gottschalks, also BUNTE heard from friends, would treat each other “sensibly and amicably.”
