Who knows the brands, calls the names. Those who go on a reconnaissance tour to native car manufacturers at the Shanghai Motorshow in remote corners of the halls will quickly encounter barriers. The names of the mostly small exhibitors are often found only in Chinese writing on the stands, questions in the international language English answer the often very young hostesses with a friendly, but completely puzzled look.
There are over 100 companies in China that manufacture cars. Only a part of them are also exhibiting at the big performance show in Shanghai. All those whose products never leave the country anyway, are therefore not prepared for questions from European novelty researchers. Nevertheless, the search for new Chinese electric cars brought many a surprise.
