Scott Scale 2017

The Swiss firm completely renews two of the most representative models in its catalog, the Scott Scale and the Scott Spark, presenting for 2017 two new machines ready to become a benchmark of the XC / Marathon segment. The main news of the rigid? A new geometry with three different models, new ultra-light carbon frame for the RC models (top of range) and 27.5, 29 and 27.5+ versions to convince all types of users.

Scott Scale 2017

The flagship XC segment of the manufacturer, popularized largely by the current World Champion of the modality, Nino Schurter. By 2017, the Scott Scale receives a new HMX-SL carbon frame at the top of the range (Scott RC), as well as HMX and HMF carbon versions and, of course, aluminum. La Scale comes with a declared weight of only 849 grams for its HMX-SL frame in size M, a very suggestive figure that makes the model one of the lightest ever manufactured by the manufacturer.

The renovation of the Scott Scale has meant nothing less than three years of intense work for the firm’s engineers. The geometry of the model has been updated following the current trends of the sector (longer upper tube, shorter sheaths, use of carbon flexibility, etc.), achieving not only a rigid and lightweight bicycle, but also much more comfortable than its predecessor : Up to 47% more than the previous Scale.

425mm pods, a steering angle of 69.5º (69º in 27.5 “) and an angle for the 73.6º (73.2º in 27.5”) seat tube form the new Scale 900 RC and Scale 700 RC frames , With somewhat more relaxed measures for the Scale 900 and Scale 700 models. The Scale Plus, designed for 27.5+ wheels, adopts a steering angle of 66.5 ° (for 130 mm travel forks), an angle for the Seat of 72.8º and a length of pods of 439 millimeters.

The technological innovations present in the new Scale of 2017 are not far behind. The frame comes with ICCR internal wiring and several new features, such as a new anchor for the rear brake caliper that avoids interference with the studied flexibility of the sheath that supports it, the integration of the change pin in the frame itself or the adoption of standard Boost , with front axle rear of 148 and 110 millimeters.

Scott offers us for the season that enters a varied range. Available from the third quarter of 2016 at the usual points of sale, we can find the Scott Scale 2017 in three versions (Scale RC, Scale and Scale Plus), with carbon frame HMX-SL / HMX for the 9 models of the Scale RC and the 32 models of the Scale and aluminum frame for the 4 models of the Scale Plus with wheels of 27.5 inches.
