The Japanese government has banned drone flights over the venues of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo .
Tokyo (SID) – The government announced after a meeting of relevant ministries. The ban zone will also apply to nearby major airports as well as Japanese forces and US military bases.
Accordingly, the police would be authorized to confiscate drones without a permit at any time. Among other things, the measure should help to prevent possible attacks.
A week ago, London Gatwick Airport had been closed due to drone sightings near the runway. As a result, around 1000 flights were delayed or canceled.
