Amazon: Alexa devices sold more than 100 million copies

The smart speakers from Amazon are a bestseller . So far, more than 100 million Alexa devices have been sold.

Shipping giant Amazon has so far sold 100 million devices worldwide with pre-installed Alexa support. This is what Dave Limp , Amazon senior vice president of devices and services, said in an interview with the US portal The Verge . This number includes all of our in-house devices as well as those of third-party vendors who now support language assistant Alexa.

For example, the Echo Dot, the smallest smart speaker from Amazon , have significantly exceeded the sales expectations at Christmas , as it is said. The speaker is currently almost sold out. According to the company in the US, the current third generation will – depending on the version – be partly available again at the end of January or the beginning of February. Models in the color “Heather Gray” are currently still available. In Germany, the speakers will be available again on 7 February at the earliest.
